This air cleaner is a very elusive piece. This is a very hard to find factory high performance dual snorkel air cleaner. The passenger side snorkel looks like it was smashed at some point and crudely reshaped. There is no significant rust and I don't see any modifications to this unit.
The part number is 6485254 which can be seen on the original decal side of air cleaner. With some dolly work, the right guy should able to make this look great. It still wears is original paint and chrome as shown. I decided not to clean it since still has the original date stamp and decal was worried cleaning may damage them.
Don't miss this very hard to find factory dual snorkel air cleaner. This air cleaner would work as is it on a survivor type car or be straight forward unit to restore. This air cleaner was used on 71-72 Camaro SS396 model's without Air Conditioning and Chevelle/Elections cowl induction or conditioning. This is an original GM dual snorkel air cleaner.
